RESPIRATION
Like humans, the platypus breathes using lungs, nostrils, and a respiratory system. Unlike some marine mammals, platypus do not have a blowhole on the top of their head. They are able to hold their breath underwater for to up two minutes to find food, however, if they feel threatened, they can hold their breath for five to six minutes.
